Serenity Model

Speaker: Duane Olberding, Executive Director of Professional Treatment Services, LLC located in Lawrence, Kansas.

Mr. Olberding and his staff have developed the model described in this presentation. The Serenity Model of Recovery^TMis a unifying theory of addiction, unifying the understanding of the cause, nature, and ultimately the treatment of both chemical and behavioral addictions. The unification of understanding is based on the intrinsic cause of addiction …. the addicted client’s attempts to lessen anxiety by whatever means they have learned will do so, ingesting a chemical or performing an anxiety lessening behavior.

This presentation will be valuable information for Addiction Counselors, Social Workers, Teachers, Medical Personnel, Person’s in Recovery, and Law Enforcement Personnel. Certificates of attendance will be provided for those attending. 2 CNE provided for nursing.

Learning Objectives: The participants will learn:
